Masculine Feminine (1966)

1h 43min | NR

“Masculine-Feminine,” directed by Jean-Luc Godard, is a 1966 film that captures the lives of two young Parisians, Paul and Madeleine, as they grapple with love, politics, and the societal norms of the 1960s. The movie provides an unfiltered glimpse into the spirit of rebellion and disillusionment that characterized the era, with the tumultuous romantic relationship between Paul and Madeleine serving as a microcosm for the broader social and political upheaval of the time.

Through Godard’s innovative filmmaking style and candid portrayal of youth culture, the film delves into themes of alienation, idealism, and the clash between personal desires and societal expectations, making it a significant work in French cinema that reflects the social and political climate of its time.
