The Good House <\/strong><\/em>with Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline will also screen again on Saturday afternoon, and joining our lineup following its downtown premiere will be a new French drama, Peaceful <\/strong><\/em>(De son vivant<\/em><\/strong>) starring the iconic Catherine Deneuve as a mother whose son (Benoit Magimel) is suddenly and tragically stricken with cancer. The NY Times’<\/em> reviewer noted that “Because of these actors and a subtly self-reflexive script, Peaceful<\/strong><\/em> also plays like a eulogy to a nearly bygone era of French cinema.” Writer-director Emmanuelle Bercot is a rising talent in French cinema and Magimel, who starred with Isabelle Huppert in The Piano Teacher<\/em> as well as in the scorching La Haine<\/em>, has grown into a cinematic icon in his own right.<\/p>\n
