Here at New Plaza Cinema we’re eagerly awaiting next Tuesday morning’s Oscar nominations, and rooting for our “short listers,”\u00a0The Teachers’ Lounge<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Four Daughters<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to make the final five in their respective categories. Next weekend we may also bring some newly minted nominees to our schedule.<\/p>\n

Fred Wiseman’s epic documentary\u00a0Menus Plaisirs – Les Troisgros\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>will have its final screening on Saturday. On the weekend of February 2 we’ll be featuring\u00a0 another mammoth doc, Steve McQueen’s\u00a0Occupied City<\/em>, which WILL have an intermission.<\/p>\n

Also this weekend:\u00a0Freud’s Last Session<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0nears the end of its month-long run, and our “filmmakers-in-residence,” director Brian Vincent and producer Heather Spore will be back with their\u00a0ever-popular\u00a0Make Me Famous<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0– its twenty-first NPC screening since we “tested” it last June!<\/p>\n
