Hello everyone.\u00a0We’ve had many requests for ticketing updates on the film\u00a0Minari<\/strong><\/em>, which as of Thursday night was “sold\u00a0out”\u00a0for the first ten days of its February 12-25 run. Tickets are still\u00a0available for the final four days: Monday-Thursday\u00a0February 22-25. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n Distributor A 24 has indicated they will announce on Monday, February 15th\u00a0whether additional tickets and showtimes will be made available for the remaining, currently “sold out” dates as well as the possibility of the run being extended a third\u00a0week. As soon as we know, \u00a0we will “blast”\u00a0an update.\u00a0<\/p>\n This is “Oscar short list”\u00a0announcement week in numerous categories, and this weekend\u00a0New Plaza<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will feature two titles each from the “best international film” category – France’s\u00a0Two of Us<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and Romania’s\u00a0Collective<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0– and “best documentary feature” –\u00a076 Days<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(see below) and\u00a0Collective<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0again, a rare double-nominated title, a la last year’s beloved\u00a0Honeyland<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n In\u00a076 Days<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0we get our first extended look at the COVID-19 tragedy from where it all started. From\u00a0the\u00a0NY Times’<\/em>\u00a0Manohla Dargis: “a tough, very good Chinese documentary about the first months of the pandemic in Wuhan. This film was made by a fearless trio of filmmakers, at least one of whom, perhaps not surprisingly, is simply credited as “anonymous.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Also, now premiering exclusively at\u00a0New Plaza<\/strong>:\u00a0Leona<\/strong><\/em>. This film is about a young Jewish woman from Mexico City who finds herself torn between her family and a forbidden love affair.
