As reported last week, today we’re adding one more title from the Oscar short list, Denmark’s\u00a0Another Round<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>starring Mads Mikkelsen, chosen in the “best international film”\u00a0category. Director Thomas Vinterburg’s films such as\u00a0The Celebration<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Hunt<\/em>\u00a0have won major prizes at Cannes. In his latest, per the NY Times’ reviewer “four Danish men, all schoolteachers, embark on a pseudoscientific quest: to see if drinking daily will pull them out of their midlife slumps…but this film is neither farce nor moralistic provocation….Vinterberg’s delicate, grounded direction and the actors’ wonderfully loose performances\u00a0insist upon authenticity….”<\/p>\n
