You can find the code on the info for the film below.<\/p>\nNow, back to the Oscars…some audiences (and even Academy voters) profess to be a bit underwhelmed by this year\u2019s eight Best Picture nominees.\u00a0 In a “normal”\u00a0year, several of the long-postponed major studio heavyweights including Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch<\/em>,\u00a0the film version of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights<\/em>,\u00a0Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story<\/em> remake and Tom (Spotlight<\/em>) McCarthy’s drama Stillwater<\/em> might also have been in the mix.<\/p>\nBut I would say that I still find \u2014 without naming too many names \u2014 the six nominees I\u2019ve seen to be worthy choices and that, to paraphrase Hamilton<\/em>,\u00a0Nomadland<\/em> has my vote. Director Chloe Zhao (whose The Rider<\/em>\u00a0we screened at New Plaza<\/strong>) may have shot her film before the pandemic, but she still managed to capture a melancholy restlessness in American life that…oh, boy…so many of us have felt hit home in this raucous, stricken year.<\/p>\nCall it luck, serendipity, or cinematic destiny \u2014\u00a0but I predict the Oscar will go to Nomadland <\/em>on Sunday night.<\/p>\nHappy viewing.<\/p>\n
