His 1990 epic spanning three decades of NYC&#8217;s &#8220;criminal element&#8221; seems to me to have endless repeat-viewing capacity across a wide swath of movie lovers. This is a great chance to experience it again (or for the first time!) on the big screen and in five-speaker stereo at New Plaza Cinema&#8217;s @ West End Theatre. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>Coming up in June:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On Thursday June 2 at 7 pm, we&#8217;ll be reprising the documentary\u00a0<em>The Last Laugh<\/em>, a sellout at our recent Goddard Arts Festival, with Q&amp;A hosted by director Ferne Pearlstein and her very special guest Dara Gottfried, widow of Gilbert Gottfried who appears in the film. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>On Friday June 3 we will commence a run of the acclaimed documentary\u00a0<em>Jazz Fest &#8211; A New Orleans Story,<\/em>\u00a0direct from its downtown premiere engagement. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Sunday June 5 is World Environment Day. We&#8217;ll be featuring documentaries on food justice, climate and related issues including our recent, popular attraction\u00a0<em><strong>Breaking Bread<\/strong>.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>On the weekend of June 11-12 we&#8217;ll present back to back, separate admission screenings of the 1961 and 2021 versions of\u00a0<em>West Side Story<\/em>\u00a0on our big, ultra-wide stereo screen, reversing the sequence on each day.
